Protect your Home from Natural Disasters

Protect your Home from Natural Disasters

September 20, 2013

Wildfires in the western part of the country and devastating floods in Colorado are just a few the latest devastating natural disasters that we read about almost every day.

The East Coast and RI in particular have been impacted as well. The flooding in March of 2010, the devastation caused by hurricane Sandy in 2012 and the flooding in early September of this year prove that none of us is free from the threat of a natural disaster.

The Main Street America Group via Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety shared a great list of home maintenance projects to reduce the risk of damage to your home during a natural disaster. Now is the perfect time of year to do some of these projects. Remember Hurricane Sandy hit the New Jersey and Southern New England shores on October 29th so we could still have some devastating weather ahead.
